An Evening of Tutoring at Grade A Plus

At Grade A Plus, our approach is rooted in the belief that all children can learn to do well when given support, encouragement, and a caring community. As fall academic sessions are now underway — with virtual learning Mondays and in-person tutoring Tuesdays and Thursdays — our dedicated University of Missouri student volunteers bring energy, encouragement, and excitement to every session. In our one-on-one and small-group tutorials, we focus not only on academic content but also on building confidence, nurturing curiosity, and celebrating growth.
Each evening begins with our Positive Youth Development (PYD) program, which gives students space to unwind from the school day, share what’s on their minds, and strengthen relationships with their tutors. PYD focuses on 3rd–8th grade students and emphasizes character building and self-identity development, helping them build the social and emotional foundation needed for success in and beyond the classroom.
From there, tutors meet with students in small groups to provide individualized academic support tailored to each child’s learning needs.
